The ROC is a community center in West Garland that is reaching the lost of our world with
the love of Jesus Christ to the glory of God.
Over a decade ago, Metro Family Ministries, a nonprofit 501 (c) (3), took over an abandoned fitness center in the heart of a community of apartment complexes. In the years that have followed, the ROC has been transformed through the efforts of several churches from different denominations who serve together in order to impact our city with the good news of Jesus. We want to continue to develop a network of ministry-based programs to evangelize and empower those in our multi-ethnic community.
Our hope is to integrate people of diverse social, economic, cultural, and racial backgrounds. The ROC ministries are designed to train, resource, and connect people to God and others. Click find out more about our ministries, calendar, and location.
Ethi came to the ROC as a volunteer in 2013 and became part of the staff in 2014. She started by leading one of our biggest seasonal ministries, ROC 'N Summer. Since then, the Lord has given her opportunity to serve as Ministry Coordinator.
Her hope for the ROC is to grow in the love and service of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Ricardo attended the Woodgate Apartment Ministry as a child which then led him to volunteer at the ROC in 2012. He joined the staff in 2018 as a Ministry Assistant. His hope for the future of the ROC is to bring the love of God to all families, as Jesus did for him.
Jocelyn has been volunteering at the ROC since 2013 and has been on staff since 2017. She is married and has a 6 year old boy. She coordinates the Community Service program at the ROC. Her hope for the ROC is to share the gospel and God’s love with everyone she encounters.
1 John 3.16
This is how we know what love is:
Jesus Christ laid down his life for us.
And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.
